Lubbock Weekend

I won't talk about the game (which according to the Lubbock Avalanche Journal was the most deflating Tech home game since 1967), or the speeding ticket (85 in a 70 - yeah right officer!), or the search all over the stadium or my lost wallet (that was later found in my purse) - but I will share with you some pictures from a great weekend in Lubbock with my family!

We celebrated our arrival after 5 hours in the car with a trip to Lubbock's new 5 Guys. We just wanted to make sure it was up to our standards. And based on these happy eaters I'd say yes!
And of course the most important part of our visit was seeing Nana, my grandmother. She has been a huge part of my life and I love that she gets to be a part of my boy's too!! We love you Nana!!!
A little football at Nana's house. If only these guys had been on the roster Sat. night.
Stacey declared that she had "cool toys" a bold compliment from a 4 year old, including her very own matador!

The fam at the pre-game tailgate.

Sarah joined us as well, but we won't talk about her unexpected victory.
Ryan and Stacey aren't too sure about that pig getting prepped for the smoker.
We took the kids to the Will Rogers statue on campus traditionally wrapped for game day. Did you know his horse was named Soapsuds? Now you do!

These two alumni couldn't resist the photo opt. :)
We stayed with the Warren's (my brother-in-law's parents) and they had these precious little cots fitted with Lightning McQueen sheets set up for the boys. Needless to say they were delighted with their accommodations (as were we). Wyatt immediately declared he wants dat for his bertday! A new statement we are hearing WAY to often.
All in all we had a great weekend in spite of the aforementioned unmentionables.

Three fun posts in a row! So sorry for the loss this weekend. Such a bummer. (I feel your pain....although it's one we BU fans experience all too often!) The Purdy family pic is GREAT....but Mark needs a Tech shirt!

Great post! I can't help but smile at our crazy Raider family:-). We sure did have fun with the Smiths-as usual.

You have got the sweetest family for sure, even if you bleed red. And I have to agree that the UPSET was a surprise but we'll take it!! Gig'em Aggies!!

Well, at least there are other teams having a bit of a defeat as well this season. Like the family photo on the dusty trails of Lubbock. Loved the pumpkin patch, the halloween decor, and the trials of Lubbock past.....

Oh my, so many "adventures" in one weekend! I'm glad you kept a good attitude and enjoyed yourselves despite the setbacks.

I love your whole family in black and red...so festive! And, excuse my ignorance, but is that statue wrapped like that for EVERY home game??

Sorry for laughing out loud at the unmentionables! That's horrible and funny too. I would totally do the wallet thing! Love your pictures. What fun family tradition...Raiders Raiders! Still can't get over Wyatt's hair! Its unreal, yet SO REAL! He looks as old as Stacey! Great post!

My brother shared in your upset and was quite baffled and highly disappointed with the loss. I told my sister in-law I felt worse for her, now she has two poutty four-year olds! :)

Glad y'all had fun in spite of the disappointing game!

Ok, I told Angie this too, but I want to know if Stacey's gag reflex kicked in with that pig. For some reason that made me chuckle.
LOVE the red raider pics. I think the Svobodas need to take a trip to LBK!!!!! Guns up!
