Spring Break 2011

Since we are still in the heyday that is the preschool years spring break isn't all that different from our normal routine. However, the boys had no school on Tues/Thus and no bible study on Wed, so the lack of activities, combined with Daddy working several evenings and the weekend, made it a perfect time to head to Waco for a WILD spring break week. And you know what they say...what happens in Waco, stays in Waco...JK. That was for Stacey because he absolutely despises that saying. :)

My pictures are random and scarce (sorry Ally and Ryan??) but we had a great time with our family and friends and enjoyed lots of great cousin time, a trip to the zoo, dinner out, BU vs. Tech baseball game, shopping with my sisters, play date with some besties, a photo shoot, Starbucks with one of my BU girls, yogurt at 3 spoons and much more!! Thank you family for being so available, helpful and supportive when I bring my circus to town.

Kacey had a friend with twins that passed on some gear. It came in very handy at Honey and GPs!
Couldn't get enough of this Marshmallow!
Lila had a play princess camera and all three kids enjoyed snapping pictures of the animals at the zoo.
Caroline and her minions
The three C's enjoyed some bonding
Crew couldn't contain his excitement.
I snapped this picture of my coordinating cuties right after we got home.

Three Months Old!!

Three pictures for three months.

We took these on Saint Patrick's Day so the boys were all decked out in green, but they weren't feeling so lucky by the end of our mini photo shoot. ;)

Future Farmers of America

I left my camera in Waco last month so the few pictures I've taken have been with the iphone. Looking forward to getting it back tomorrow and catching some sweet smiles (which the babies are flashing us all the time now!) on camera.

The Country

Back when the C's had RSV Stacey III and Wyatt were whisked off to the country with Cassie and Teddy. They live in Jacksboro, but we all affectionately refer to their house as "the country" due to the land they live on. It is heaven for little boys, and big boys for that matter. Our boys are SO blessed to be so thoroughly loved by their great aunt and uncle, and we are very thankful for them both!!

Cassie documented their time together with pictures and made them an awesome book that they LOVE to look through. It's always followed by a request to go to the country again ASAP!!

Filling the water tank.
Riding their motorcycles (AKA Big Wheels) Allllllllllllllllllllllllll the way down the road!
Teddy got them their first BB Gun and they had some target practice.
So proud!
Wyatt was ready for a little heavier firearm...or maybe just a picture with one ;)
Throwing rocks in the pond - is there anything more B-O-Y than throwing rocks? much less a place where it is totally acceptable.

All that outdoor fun makes for some dirty dogs - bath time!

And then they get to do it all over again.

Batting practice.
Story time with Aunt Cassie.
And just because I want to remember how my Wy-Guy says it, in the country you get to listen to cy-YOU-tes. :)

My Handy Helpers

Stacey was repairing our gate last weekend and had a very eager work crew ;).

33 Years Young

Birthday's look a lot different these days than they once did. They are still filled with cookie cake and shared with my favorite people in the world but there are some notable differences these days. For example, I didn't used to get birthday wishes from countless people that I haven't seen or talked to in years, but thanks to Facebook, yesterday I did - and I loved it!

I didn't used to get woken up by a three year old "whispering" in my ear, "Mommy I spilled something in the kitchen and it made a really big mess. I don't know what it is but it is some kind of food and I can't clean it up." The unidentifiable food was a box of Grape-nuts and in his effort to clean it up he spread them into even the most far reaching crevasses of the kitchen. I didn't used to have to break up fights and dole out spanking and discipline before breakfast but yesterday I did. I didn't used to take me until 11:00 to get ready and out the door but thanks to Coyt and Crew yesterday it did. I didn't used to pick Five Guys for my birthday dinner but with our six pack sometimes knowing that everyone will be happy and home by bedtime trumps my desire for fine dining.

I can't say that I loved all of those moments but as I got into bed last night and ended my 33rd birthday because of some of them and in spite of others I couldn't help but feel really really blessed by all that God has done for me in my 33 years!!

And just to be clear, I did get to to go to the movies and get a pedicure this weekend, I was spoiled with gifts and help from all of our family and one of my birthday gifts yesterday was a real date with my husband to the place of my choosing this weekend. I obviously still enjoy and need time without all the beautiful chaos of our world these day. But I wouldn't trade my life at home with these boys for all the pedicures in the world...and I just need to remind myself of that sometimes when it feels like the AWOL grape-nuts are winning. :)

Wyatt's Wednesday Wisdom

"Mom, these are my battery babies. You can not touch them. I can touch them because I'm a growned up but you can not touch them. When they were in my uterus you could touch them all the time, but not now cause they're sleepin."
Oh my precious Wy-Guy...
  • Hmmmm, you think he's been hearing a lot of "don't touch the babies" lately :)?
  • Not sure how to break it to him that he in fact does not have a uterus.
  • It looks like he may have a litter of marble babies as well, which means Hungry Hungry Hippos may forever be short a few pieces.
  • He is such a good Daddy, on this particular day his battery babies spent some time in the swing and bouncy seats.
  • Sweet watch Heart Breaker. :)
