Easter

On Easter we decided to go to the 8:00 service to make room at the 9:30, but that meant we would be in a bit of a rush to get out the door and would have to save Easter baskets until after church. Everything was out on the table but I put a towel over both baskets to keep them hidden until we returned.

On the way to church we had this little conversation:

Stacey III: Hey Mom, maybe the Easter bunny left us some new bullets. (nurf gun bullets)
Me: What would make you say that?
Stacey III: Well...our old bullets are lost and some of them are broken.
Me: (suspicious) Well, maybe. We'll have to wait until we get home to find out.

Pause

Stacey III: And maybe the Easter bunny left us a little dump truck.
Me: (Very suspicious now) Um, did you peek at your Easter basket???
Stacey III: Yes :)

Little stinker!

That egg hatched Lightning McQueen!

We snapped a quick pic...well that is a lie, we took about 10 and this was the only one worth posting. Then we headed to Shelley and Geoff's for Easter lunch with the Smiths and Woodburys.
More pictures.

Cousins. Oh Truey I love you in your matchy matchy big boy shirt! :)
And this precious bit!
Aunt Sarah and T-bird, getting a little sleepy.
Nannie and Big with their fan club.

We told Wyatt to stand up and put his hands on Big and Nannie. He took our instructions very seriously and I love his Olan Mills style. ;)
Egg Hunt - Stacey had just found the very sneakily hidden (as promised by Daddy) bunny egg he'd been searching for.
Lots of loot.
What a wonderful holiday weekend!
We enjoyed numerous egg hunts, parties and great time with all our family this month, but more than anything, as always (but especially on Easter) I am overwhelmed by my Savior's sacrifice and the ultimate gift given for me...for ME! Death couldn't handle him and the grave couldn't hold him - THAT'S MY KING!! The tomb is empty and He is risen, He is risen indeed.

Oh Lord, that I would be as aware of your gift every day throughout the year as I am during this precious Easter season.
