Gentelmen, START YOUR ENGINES!!!!

Yes, after many creative ideas and sibling combo costume research, we decided to scrap it all and go with race car drivers this Halloween. Ryan (our nephew) just happened to pick a race car driver two years that happen to fit our boys so race car drivers it is!! And if you ask me they are pretty cute little speed machines.
Meet Ricky Racer
And Speedy Stacey (actually Jeff Gordon). And for those of you concerned about Stacey's orange bird ambitions, fear not. When this Cars fan slipped into his racing gear, the orange bird wishes were gone faster than Lightning McQueen can make it around the track. The first night he put on his costume he asked "Mommy, can I take a bath in it?" And when told, "No, it really isn't water worthy," he persisted "Well, can I put it back on after my bath and sleep in it?" So cute!! Orange Bird Smorng Bird :)
Beep Beep!
You know what they say, (they being Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder) Rubbin' is Racin'!
Ding Dong!
Well, who could it be but the most precious little trick or treaters this house has ever seen!!!
We did a little practicing this morning since we're going to be in route to Lubbock tonight for the big game tomorrow. Speedy will be headed to Waco to trick or treat with Ryan and then on to the FBC Woodway Fall Fest while Ricky Racer hangs back with Big and Nannie. But I couldn't let them go without a little Halloween fun to start out our day!!
Happy Halloween!!!!!

Cade's Pumpkin Patch

What orange cupcakes? We don't know what you're talking about.

Our sweet Friend Cade Shepelwich celebrated his 1st birthday this weekend. Happy Birthday Cade!!!A few of Kristin's small group girls did face painting.
But Wyatt opted for his hand. Who knew at 18 mos, he would be so opinionated. And there was a bounce house so III was in hog heaven.
We did a quick change when the sun went down (and the cupcakes had had their way with the boys clothes) and joined the many cute costume clad guests at the party, but I'll save those pics for tomorrow's Happy Halloween post. :)

Dessert

My precious Wyatt has been teething something serious the past few weeks. So he has been waking up in the night and just not his normal happy self. "No" has become his favorite word. Of course, based on these pictures you wouldn't know he ever had an inconsolable moment, but that is what makes the super smile all that much sweeter.

I know food pictures can be a little yuck-o, so just FYI he is enjoying the chocolate pie we had for dessert last night :) Not sure why but chocolate all over his face isn't as gross to me as say peas?

Jim

Stacey was such a good Daddy last night (he always is, but he got extra points last night). He headed up the pumpkin carving for the sake of fall traditions for our family. I know that is probably not top of the list of things you couldn't wait to get home and do, but you were such a good sport and we love you for it!!!

Wyatt's attention span didn't last too long, but III was pretty engaged. The "guts" and seeds had his interest peeked. What should his face look like? III decided two eyes a nose and a mouth. Good call.
Oh Daddy, those eyes are too scary! Not Scary!
What a sweet Daddy, even when the boys were running around the house instead of "helping" with the carving, he kept right on making sure Jim (Did I mention the boys named our pumpkin Jim?) just right.

TA DA!!!
We turned off all the lights so we could all admire Jim's glow and that brought the wide eyed troops back to the table in a flash.
Thanks for being such a wonderful Daddy (and skilled pumpkin carver!!). We love you!!!

Kooky Cookies

Shannon had all the cookie decorating goodies ready to roll last night and the kiddos had a blast loading up their cookies with layer after layer of Halloween treats.

Stacey was surprisingly serious about his decorating.

Wyatt, not so much.

The boys LOVE playing with Reagan and Landon. Stacey has a little trouble saying Landon's name (I have no idea why - speech pathologists any ideas?) So he'll say Reagan and Reagan when he means Reagan and Landon. He talks about "Reagan" a lot, but we know he really means Landon...not that he and R don't have a special bond too :)

We've been having dinner with the Brown's (and used to the Svoboda's) every other Monday since before we had kids and I look forward to it every week!

Thanks for the extra special festivities this week SB!

Pickles and Ice Cream

I helped host a "Cravings - Pickles and Ice Cream" themed baby shower for Kacey this weekend. I always love hosting, but it was extra special to get to do it for my sister!!!! I still kind of can't believe that our baby is having a baby!! She is going to be an amazing mother and we can't wait to meet our precious niece, Lila!!! Based on the number of exclamation points in this paragraph I am clearly excited.
Wyatt was all ready for the party with his purse and hat. Sorry buddy girls only :)
I somehow neglected to get any pictures of our ice cream sandwiches :(, but here are the rest of the details.

Tag You're It

I've been tagged to list 7 random facts about myself so here goes....

I LOVE polka dots. I am drawn to them like a moth to a flame and love just about every variation of them.

I can not stand secret sounds. You know the millisecond mystery sound they play on the radio and then people call in and guess what is was? They drive me crazy. I never know what they are but I can't stop thinking about it and wishing they would play a longer clip. I hate them.
I would like to start a business planning birthday parties and showers. I'm not sure exactly how to go about it or how to make money doing it, but once we get those little details ironed out we'll be ready for business. Notice I picked a polka dot hat :)
I have always regretted that my wedding dress didn't have box pleats.
My first cabbage patch kid was a boy named Stacey. (I told this story with my Journey entry so sorry if it is a repeat) it was a boy preemie and I begged to have his "birth certificate" sent in
to change his name, but no such luck. Now I know the Lord was just preparing me for my wonderful husband :)
I am am total wanna be dancer. And completely mesmerized by those with this gift. It doesn't matter if it is a contemporary solo, a choreographed tap routine, or the Lake Highlands Wranglers - I love it and wish I could do it.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE sweet tea - YUM-O!! Chick-Fil-A usually satisfies my craving for this treat, but I'm not picky.
