Back To School

We have officially completely our first week back to school, albeit a three day week. But with the abrupt shift from the lazy days of summer to early mornings, routine and speedy afternoons I think a three day week was just what the doctor ordered so that we could all get our feet wet and then catch our breath before diving back in next week!!

Little teacher treat. :)
The boys were super excited and have truly Loved every single day.
(should have let me chalkboard dry a little longer - oh well)

I got cheesy having them pose next to some decor - can't help myself sometimes.

Love these two uniform wearing, school loving boys!

Best administrator ever!!
Family picture. GP stayed with the wonder twins so that Daddy and I could both see off our Bigs.
I was ready for back-to-school and so were Stacey and Wyatt, but I couldn't help but get a little oh where is this time going when I walked by Mrs. Sim's kindergarten classroom and was reminded that my first and second grader are BOTH upstairs, both big kids now!
Wyatt has the incredible Mrs. Lindsey, Stacey's teacher last year and a family friend we have known since birth so obviously we love her!!
Stacey has Mrs. Wallace, who he already LOVES and who Ryan (who had her two years ago) called the best teacher ever!
Super excited about both the boys sweet teachers.

Look who we ran into dropping off big sister Lila at her firs day of preschool. :)
LOVE that I get to share our school days with my SISTERS!!
Honey had some little helpers that wanted to stay at school too. :(
These two peanuts are in the same class again - yeah!!! Wyatt looks big to me here...sniff sniff
We love WCS and are very excited about a great year!!!

Dog Days of Summer

We (I) had sort of run out of summer steam by August and my lack of Mommy mojo coupled with the crippling heat of our glorious Texas summers meant that (with a few fun exceptions sprinkled in of course!) we were L-A-Z-Y.

The boys watched eight million shows and I pretty much perfected living in my PJs while letting go of the dream that this was going to be the summer my boys learned to love reading and this was going to be the summer where my consistent discipline methods and creative but effective punishments had us dishing out encouragement to one another instead of "Did you just spit on your brothers back?" It wasn't pretty!

Although now that we are back to our school routine and I have packed THREE whole days worth of lunches those lazy days don't sound too bad! What can I say we're (I'm) hard to please.

Here are a few pictures of our last few days of Summer 2013.

Leftover experiment from materials I purchased back in June when I was rocking this summer thang. ;)

Cornstarch quick sand.

It quickly went from and educational moment to a "You Can't Do That On Television" slime fight. Hey whatever works...it's August.

A few cooler evenings actually had us enjoying the outdoors, kind-of crazy for August!
Super Coyt!
Getting a lift from III.

I do hope they will wear clothes again someday? Wasn't worth the battle...especially in August.
The boys had been begging to have a lemonade stand all summer so on our last day we (I) finally did it! It was short lived but they loved it and now want to do it everyday. I think my neighbors are going to think it's a little less cute and the lemonade is a little less worthy of the $1 tip if they are out there every day.

Big spender

And Wyatt lost another tooth...this post has about as much charisma and forethought as...August. ;)

Smith Lake

Every Summer Mom and Dad graciously let us schedule a weekend at the Lake with the Smith side of the family. It's always a great time together with everyone enjoying each others company and all the lake has to offer. Love the family God blessed me with when I married Stacey.

I was a camera slacker since Shelley was there to capture the moment with her superior equipment so most of these pictures are hers.

I love the mid air action shots. Wy-Guy
Geronimo!!
Nannie brought everyone a cup full of misc. Lego's and they had to make their own creations using all the pieces in their cup. They were very creative and this kept them occupied for a good long time!
Lovin' some early morning cousin/brother snuggles.
These three amigos have really started to play well together and are pretty funny to watch. I loved catching Coyt in Crew in conversations with Truett or laughing at something he did that they thought was hilarious.
Hard to tell who is keeping who afloat here.
Wyatt and Brylie are best buds. She is pretty much his shadow and he loves every minute of it!!
We celebrated a few August birthdays! Big turned 63 and celebrated by taking us all to see Planes. :)

Super Biggie!!
Nannie and Big with their six pack.

Nannie bought everyone new matching jammies. Plane themed perfect for the weekend. :)

We took some group pictures which of course were incredibly easy and all perfect. ;)
Miraculously the Cs weren't crying and actually didn't mind taking a few pictures so we'll take it!
Love my tough boys!!

Yep, crew is licking Stacey????
OK I think we're done, they were so sad to be finished. ;)
Little fish

On the last morning we did some skiing and Daddy had some fun with the big three on the plane. I LOVE the range of emotions captured in these pictrures and can remember so vividly feeling overjoyed and terrified simultaneously as we were slung around the waves on a similar ride.
Whoops - Wyatt's a goner!! Love love love those feet in the air!
Wait just a minute
Stacey looks like he is going down...
He later said he was celebrating because he lived!
Terror

I promise they were having fun. :)
